Every student comes to their practice with unique goals and intentions. In private 1:1 sessions, we work together in a supportive and personalized way to help you meet those goals with a focus on safety, education, and comfort.
Examples of intentions from past and current clients:
Enhancing mobility to support Jiu Jitsu training (hips, shoulders, and balance)
Building a strong foundation and sequencing skills for a home practice
Improving balance and coordination
Exploring the fundamentals of inversions (such as headstands and handstands)
Cultivating calm through breathwork and mindfulness
Developing overall strength and flexibility
Gaining confidence to step into group classes
Each session is tailored to you, your body, and your practice - yoga should meet you exactly where you are.
Send an email inquiry. Before the session we will discuss your goals/desires to see if 1:1 sessions are a good fit for you.
If Shayna feels 1:1 sessions are a good fit, you will be sent an intake form to outline your health needs as well as your expectations for sessions. Shayna will review this to ensure all sessions are in alignment with client desires.
The first session will give Shayna an idea of your current mobility & strength aiding in the planning of all future sessions. Expect this to be a slower pace with plenty of adjustments.
Sessions will continue at a frequency desired by the client. All sessions will be carefully planned based upon current client mobility/strength, as well as the desired outcome. Adjustments will continue throughout each session and the pace of class will be based upon client desires/level.
How long is each session?
All sessions are 1 hour long.
Where do in-person sessions take place?
Typically Shayna travels to the clients home. If your space doesn’t allow for it, sessions will be held at Shayna’s home. In the warmer months some clients opt for an outdoor public space. The choice is yours!
Do I need my own props?
For in-person sessions, Shayna can provide all props needed - blocks, straps, and even a mat! You can use your own if you choose.
How do online sessions work?
You will be sent a Google Meets link before each session. Ensure your camera is set up so Shayna can observe each pose to allow for vocal adjustments.
What if I don't want hands-on assists?
No problem! Shayna will always ask at the beginning of a session if you would like hands-on assists. Sometimes your just not feeling it and that’s ok!
